Description : The MNS Cave Group Basic Caving Course is running into its 18th edition this year. Its continue to be motivated by publics’ support and interest in the wonderful world of caves. Join this year as to continue share their passion on conservation and appreciation of our caves.
Most people think of caves as the homes of the prehistoric men. What kind of excitement could one possibly expect from an ancient shelter? For nature lovers, caves concealed a captivating beauty within. For the curious, caves are mysterious with new discoveries to be made! Furthermore manoeuvring inside a cave can be physically demanding with vertical climbs and crawling. Join them to have fun whilst learning of the wonders of caves and experience something unconventional and different! You will learn about geology, the flora & fauna of caves, knots and rope works while appreciating the cave formations. Abseiling, which most previous participants considered as the most exciting event, is something that you must experience at least once.
The Basic Caving Course will be conducted in Kota Gelanggi, Pahang from 16th March to 18th March 2012.
Course encompasses the following:
1. Workshop on cave geology, flora/fauna, archaeology, conservation and techniques.
2. Abseiling. Try for yourself on descending a 50m cliff with modern techniques used by cavers
3. Cave exploration activities. This is where the adventure begins as we bring you into the impressive caves in Kota Gellangi.
Itinerary as follows:
Friday 16th March
2:30pm Depart to Tekam Plantations Resort
5:30pm Arrival and check-in
6:30pm Workshop session 1
7:30pm Dinner
8:30pm Workshop session 2
10:30pm Supper
Saturday 17th March
8:00am Breakfast and briefing
9:00am to 5:00pm Abseiling and Adventure Caving
7:30pm Dinner
8:30pm Gua Dynamics
Sunday 18th March
8:00am Breakfast and briefing
9:00am to 3:00pm Adventure Caving
4:00pm Presentation of certificates and debriefing
