FUTURE SOUND ASIA PRESENTS FATBOY SLIM

Right Here. Right Now. It may be a cliche but the life of block rocking DJ Fatboy Slim closely mirrors the sentiment of one of his biggest hits. Criss-crossing the globe for more than 20 years, you'll see him spinning at a Las Vegas VIP club one day, to hundreds of thousands on a South American beach the next and then an after hours club in Eastern Europe the day after that. Next up, he'll be bringing his acid house inspired blend of perfectly synched visuals and ground-shaking tunes back to Malaysia when Future Sound Asia presents Fatboy Slim on Saturday 14th July at KL Live @ Life Centre.

This event is brought to you by Future Sound Asia - the event and promotions team behind music scene leading platforms Speedzone, Green Room, Thirst and artist such as Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, The Gossip, MGMT, 2manydjs, The Rapture and many more.

With a career spanning over 25 years, the man best known as Fatboy Slim has been a member of chart-topping '80s indie poppers The Housemartins, a founder member of Freak Power and Beats International not to mention spinning dozens of side projects as varied as Pizzaman, Might Dub Katz and the super group Brighton Port Authority. It's fair to say that Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim has enjoyed the kind of charmed chart success that even established artists can only dream of.

As Fatboy Slim he has a slew of global hits under his belt: Praise You, Right Here Right Now, Rockafeller Skank, Sunset (Bird of Prey), Star 69, Slash Dot Dash, The Joker, hundreds of remixes, including EVA (Jean Jacques Perrey), Lazy (X-Press2) and Brimful of Asha (Cornershop) and more than a handful of mix CDs. He even founded his own music festival: Big Beach Boutique, which hits its fifth instalment in his Brighton hometown this June.

Fatboy Slim won't be the only one turning up the heat with a scorching set of music synched visuals. Future Sound Asia presents Fatboy Slim will also see the long awaited return of Litterall - the video-based side project of LAPSAP duo Blink and Xu. Last seen in 2010 when the duo shared a stage with 2manydjs and their Radio Soulwax show, the Litterall show fuses motion graphics, found footage and custom animation projected on to huge LED screens that takes LAPSAP's trash aesthetic into a new dimension.

Almost 3 months of preparation have gone into the production and preparation of these one-of-a-kind visuals, so prepare to be amazed by Blink and Xu. Completing the line up is two of the hottest up-coming talents on the Malaysian dance scene. Already branching out in production, the dark proggy-disco grooves of Phil K Lee have already moved several outdoor arenas in Malaysia. And finally there's Nick Haydez, one of the most energetic jocks on the scene, whose genre jumping set moved 5,000 people at Thirst in December.

And while the Malaysian stars prepare, Fatboy Slim will be busy hopping all over the world. But it's the Big Beach Boutique in Brighton in June that Cook-watchers will have their eye on. Taking in dance music's history and its future with a line up that also includes names like Carl Cox, Maya Jane Coles and rave revivalists 2Bears, it promises to see a return to the 'Second Summer of Love' of 1988. And it's those same good vibrations that Norman Cook will be bringing to Future Sound Asia presents Fatboy Slim in Malaysia on 14th July.

•  Fatboy Slim
•  LAPSAP
