Description : BookFest @ Malaysia is organized to showcase leading publishers and to exhibit the latest most innovative stationery products. The much anticipated fair has more than 600 booths, allowing hundreds of publishing houses, book and stationery distributors from all over Asia to present and display their goods.

The book exposition, co-organised with Sin Chew Media Corporation, is deemed as one of the largest book exposition held in the region. The consumer fair will feature publishers from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore and Malaysia. It will showcase millions of books from the latest and best collection of Chinese and English titles and act as a platform for both local and international authors to present their creative pieces. The BookFest, in addition to the multi-varied works, will exhibit a wide range of modern and innovative stationery products.

The main venue of BookFest @ Malaysia is held at one of Malaysia’s most prominent “state-of-the-art” Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) site, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). For the first 5 years, BookFest @ Malaysia has been occupying an exhibition space of 100,000 square feet stretching across Hall 1 to 5 at the Ground Floor. Now, due to the overwhelming success and support, BookFest @ Malaysia 2011 has expanded.

The new 25,000 square feet space will be a level up, a new pavilion at level 3, Life Style Pavilion. Focusing on music and stationery products, this will be our initial step to a higher development of this life style pavilion. As usual at ground floor, the Chinese Pavilion remains in Hall 1 & 2 while English Pavilion will be in Hall 4 & 5.

This mega book exposition will take place over a period of 9 days, coinciding with the school holidays. Visitors to the event can look forward to a wide range of fun-filled exciting activities such as performances, contests as well as meet-the-authors sessions which are peppered throughout the full exhibition days.

The inaugural BookFest @ Malaysia, which commenced in 2006, saw 320,000 visitors. The following year, it welcomed an overwhelming crowd of 400,000. In 2008, the annual event proved to be even more successful with approximately 450,000. Despite the Influenza A H1N1 hiccup in 2009, BookFest @ Malaysia recorded an astonishing 420,000 visitors, a very positive sign that Malaysians have a growing passion for reading. To top it all, the exposition in 2010 recorded an astounding 600,000 visitors. This year, BookFest @ Malaysia is anticipating 650,000 visitors to turn up at this mega book exhibition.
